an interesting day in the life of a run-on-sentence-rambling-mispeller-

some days are just not normal. i have been on vacation since Christmas, so this is already different, but this was one of those odd days.

i went to kc today to help big john wu negotiate a car deal with a dealership all the way in lee summit, mo. this deal was for a friend of his friends, or brother or something, wang and wang bu. wu did the research and i looked at the details, and figured we should stick with this certain car, so we go up to the dealership...wu, wang, wang bu and moi. i am the contact/negotiator/test driver/initial quasi interpreter, wu is the chinese interpreter/driver/test driver, wang is the tip requestor/buyer/head of the house, wang bu is the neck that turns the head and the holder of the checks/nodder. it was a great circus in which there was much time translating, drinking coffee and waiting for the negotiator who could have just yelled over the partitian wall what he wanted, but instead paged the person 20 feet away. it was tiring, long, scary (when wang was driving) but enjoyable to see wang and wang bu get a great car at a great price. after leaving the lot in a train of cars, we stopped by steak and shake for some blood sugar relief. while waiting for our not-so-fast food, i looked over to see mr. ray adams from the infamous late-night-movie-car-lot-used-car-dealer-sponsor-ads. i couldn't resist the urge to go over and introduce myself as he was chewing on his sandwich. he gave me a left-hand-right-hand shake, (which i figure is better than his bodygaurd kicking me) and i told him, i appreciated the late night movie thing, and his business savy.

i got home and was buried with work, and then went on a date....with my wife of course! we got cheap sushi and then went to borders to finish out a grandma wentz giftcard from a few years ago, look at art, and talk. i saw some nice sculpture work in a new mag or two, as shannon looked at her books. i ran into a sub base buddies ( www.kieljohnson.com ) work in a book called "new paintings" or something to this effect. i have been wondering where all the sub-base people of my era were up to just a few weeks ago. his site was a blast and reminded me of old times. i was up too early and now up too late.
